I have  researched the Corben lineages for a number of years.  Most of the information relates to the East Anglian Corben’s but  I have recorded information from other English counties & further afield. I aim to add it to the website over the coming weeks.  There are many spelling variants of the name including Corben, Corbin, Corbyn, Corbyne and more besides.  These spellings often overlap.  I have tracked my East Anglian Corben’s back to 1490.  Some of this research is substantiated by wills and records but some of it is speculative.  I have tried to indicate where this is the case.

  1. Hello. I came across your page while researching my 6th great grandfather, Peter Corben born in 1740’s in Virginia, USA. He relocated to Pendleton district of South Carolina with wife and several children and died there after a couple more children, leaving a will. Any long lost Corbens in your tree? Interestingly, we are y-chromosome tested as R-SRY2627

  2. Hi
I came across your web records dated back to 1490 and they cross checked with my own records of my great grandfather, Robert Corben ( or Corbyn) who married Annie Brightley.
Their son William born 1877 was my grandfather.
